A New Beginning

I have lived several "lives" in my lifetime, which I call chapters. This part of my story begins when I married my husband back in 1999. He was a blind date, and we connected immediately. His family’s business, Bindaree Food Group, was based in Inverell. Within three months, we were married. For 25 years, I have observed and participated in the meat industry, enjoying the opportunity to help feed the world. There are so many products that come from this industry, and tallow is one of them.

The Birth of a Passion

For over 20 years, I have been making balms and salves for my own personal use. Once satisfied and tested on myself, I had gifted these balms to my family and friends. About 12 years ago, I started selling balms and salves as a small pastime hobby for my close ones.

my Struggles with Skin

In my 40s and 50s, I began to develop really dry skin, facial wrinkles, lumps, bumps, and eventually psoriasis. During menopause, it was amplified, spreading like wildfire throughout my body. I needed an amazing product for my skin, which had become so rough, unsightly, and embarrassing. The problem was, there was nothing that actually worked, and steroid creams were making matters worse, not better.

A Natural Solution

It was then that I thought I would look to our ancestors and focus on natural creams combined with botanicals. The types of tallow I have access to intrigued me. I have been aware of tallow's medicinal properties for a long time, so it just made sense. It was then that I started including it within my balms and creams.

A Growing Passion

Since then, it has become an absolute passion to continue developing products I find outstanding. I have always used the highest quality skincare I could afford, but I was shocked at how many chemicals and synthetics are used in store-bought products, with long lists of scary names and numbers. I wanted to create a world with no chemicals, no preservatives, no hormone disruptors, and one that is kind to the environment. It is vital to protect our biggest and most precious organ on our body - our skin.

The evolution of Ogapè

In the process of this, Ogapè was born, and my knowledge from 50+ years and 20+ years of research and development has evolved into something I truly believe is special and a gift from the Divine.
